Today I was sent to Mrs. Cayman’s class because she is absent. When my english teachers allowed us to watch an adaptation, they required us to read the story before watching. This class will be doing a reversed method of watching the adaptation before reading the story. The students are supposed to read Macbeth on Monday, so the substitute found an old video of Macbeth for them to watch. She feigned interest in the hopes that they would be interested, yet only one student looked up to see what was happening. I believe his phone is dead unlike everyone else. Maybe it is the result of my coming in late, but I could not follow the storyline of the video. The video was grainy and the colors seem to meld together. The actors tried their best to sound interesting yet I did not want to hear their exaggerated shouts and whispers. I know that Macbeth and other Shakespeare plays are a requirement, but I believe that the best way to get someone's attention with a video is to find a quality video.
